Kannada Rajyotsava Celebrations



One day I saw my colleagues wearing the T-shirts along with the slogans, included with yellow red combination balloons and talking about slogans in office. I asked my friend who actively participated in that event. He told this is the celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava. At the event we had very good presentation about Karnataka, leaders, writers, freedom fighters etc.,

Back in 1956, as per states re-organisation act, parts of Coorg, Madras, Bombay & Hyderabad are incorporated to Mysore. In 1973, incorporated Mysore called as Karnataka. In 1965, Mr. M. Ramamurthy started "Kannada Paksha" political party which was not last long but he founded the flag for Kannada. The two colors noted as Turmeric and Kunkuma. Prosperity and wellness for the people. When the people of Karnataka celebrating Kannada/Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 1, this flag will get prominent place. 'Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate' is the song for flag anthem.

 Religions are not factored for these celebrations. Folk dances like Bayalata, Dollu Kunitha, Kamsale, Veeragase, Kolata etc., are played to showcase their culture. Yakshagana, dramas, songs are performed. Since Bengaluru is silicon valley of India, it has many IT organizations. Major firms like, Thomson Reuters, TCS, Wipro, Infosys are encouraging to display their local flavors. Kannada Rajyotsava can be celebrated any day in the month of November.
